McRae Industries, Inc.

McRae Industries was founded in 1959 by Branson J. McRae as a manufacturer of children’s shoes. In 1966, during the height of the Vietnam War, McRae bid on and received a contract to manufacture DMS military combat boots for the United States Army. McRae Industries, under our McRae Footwear Division, has been a manufacturer of military combat boots for the United States Army ever since. In 1996, McRae Industries purchased American West Trading Company, a manufacturer of western boots, and from 2002 – 2006 purchased the Dingo, Dan Post, Laredo and other western brands and renamed the company Dan Post Boot Company. In 2005, Dan Post Boot Company became a licensee of John Deere and began manufacturing men and women work boots and children shoes and boots under the John Deere banner.

McRae Footwear

McRae Footwear received its first United States Government contract for combat boots in 1966 and has steadily provided combat boots to our military forces since then.  Over the past 41 years, McRae Footwear has proudly manufactured millions of pairs of military combat boots for the United State Government in the various constructions they have required.

McRae Footwear is totally dedicated to manufacturing high quality footwear for the United States Armed Forces for many years to come.

Dan Post Boot Company

Dan Post Boot Company designs, markets and distributes western footwear for men, women and children under the brands Dan Post, Dingo, and Laredo. In addition, the Company has a licensing agreement with John Deere to design, market and distribute men and women’s work boots and children shoes and boots under that brand name. In 2008, Dan Post introduced McRae Industrial work boots. These footwear products are sold nationwide primarily through western stores, farm and ranch stores, regional specialty chains, direct mail catalogs and Internet retailers.

The three (3) western brands are separate and distinct from each other in design, price and target customers. Dan Post is a high quality, hand crafted brand that focuses on comfort while offering traditional western designs. Dingo is a “life style” brand that targets customers who are more fashion oriented. The Laredo brand offers consumers authentic western boots at a value price.

The John Deere brand offers high quality work boots focusing on comfort and utility including waterproof steel toe designs. In addition, the John Deere brand includes an extensive line of children shoes and boots. The McRae Industrial brand provides comfortable, yet rugged, durable work boots at a popular price
